Donald James Whitehead, 73, passed from this life on August 9, 2019 surrounded by family. Donald was born in Youngstown, Ohio on February 5, 1946 to Donald Whitehead and Myrtle Lee Gibson.
Donald was sealed in the Los Angeles LDS Temple to Georgenia Watters on April 15, 1978. Georgenia had two children when they married and together they added three more. Donald loved his family deeply, though he struggled to express that love at times.
Donald was an incredibly talented musician and on his guitar could play any song by ear. He taught himself many languages and was able to complete college despite being denied the opportunity to complete high school. He also enjoyed collecting coins and paying for anything he could with two dollar bills. He naturally drew people in, and made friends wherever he went.
Donald is survived by his eternal companion, Georgenia, and his children, Aaron (Amber) Stochlia, Georgette (Murray) Harrild, Johanna (Juan Carlos) Whitehead, Chelsea Clark and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter Sara Stochlia.
We would like to express gratitude for all the wonderful staff at Rocky Mountain Care in Clearfield. You treated our Dad with such kindness and care, thank you!
