North Salt Lake, Ut-Donald D. Solomon passed away February 6, 2015.
Don was born August 14, 1950 to Donald J. Solomon and Sadie Belle Harris and grew up in Ogden, Utah. After graduating from Bonneville High School in 1968, he served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Germany from 1969 to 1971. Following his mission, Don attended and graduated from Weber State College, and continued his education at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio where he received both a masters degree and PhD in polymer chemistry.
Don married Jann Hales on June 13, 1972 in the Ogden Temple. Don was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and loved spending time with his family. His children and grandchildren were the recipients of his mentoring and guidance as he spent many hours teaching them his engineering craft and shared many of his hobbies with them.
Don was well respected in his profession. He worked for several notable medical device companies and held several patents for vascular access technology he developed. Don was also a local business leader serving as an executive in two local medical device companies during the last 12 years.
Don is survived by his wife, Jann; parents, Donald J. Solomon, and Sadie Belle Solomon; and sisters, Deborah (Ronald) Lacey and Denise (Robert) Bray. Don is survived by children: Christy (Dallin) Barton, Callene (David) Jensen, and Lindsey (Joseph) Lowe; and thirteen grandchildren that he loved and mentored.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 11, 2015 in the Ridge Top Ward Building, 900 Eaglepointe Drive, North Salt Lake, where friends may visit with the family from 9:30 – 10: 30 a.m. prior to the funeral service. Interment-Lakeview Cemetery.
