Donald Stewart

October 10, 1929 — September 9, 2011

Our beloved husband, father and grandfather passed peacefully into the loving arms of his Heavenly Father September 9, 2011, one month short of his 82nd birthday. He was born October 10, 1929 to Harry and Dorothy Eveleth Stewart in Buhl, Idaho. He proudly served our country in the Army and Air Force during the Japanese Occupation and the Korean Conflict. While stationed at the Tooele Army Depot he often made his way into Salt Lake City, where he met the love of his life Carole Joan Higginson. They were married September 25, 1953 and later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. He retired after 30 years with the Utah State Highway Department. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was a high priest and served in numerous positions. He served a ten year mission in the member location department of the church finding the lost sheep. He also served as a temple worker in the Bountiful temple for several years. He is survived by his wife Joan of 58 years; Children, Pauline L. (Elvin) Jackson of Santa Clara, UT; Linda Anne Stewart of Farmington, UT; Donald H Jr. (Laurie) of Bountiful, UT; Dale L (LJ) of Cedar City, UT; and Douglas E (Loretta) of Layton, UT; 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Stella Beard, Boise, ID; brother, Johnny (Elizabeth), Lenore, ID; sister, Margaret Stewart, Boise, ID; and numerous other extended family. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2011, from 6 to 8 pm at the Russon Brothers Mortuary located at 1941 N. Main, Farmington, UT. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2011, at 11:00 am following a viewing from 9:45 am to 10:45 am at the Steed Creek Chapel located at 347 S. 200 W. Farmington, UT.

The family would like to thank the members of the Farmington 13th ward for their kindness and support over the past years.
