Donald Wesley Patterson

August 9, 1952 — January 13, 2021

On Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at 2:25 am, Donald Wesley Patterson, loving husband of Teddi and father of their four children passed away at his home at the age of 68.

Donald was born at home on August 9,1952 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to Marshall T. Patterson and Essie Wilcox Patterson. He was the 6th of 7 sons and a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He married his sweetheart Teddi Jo Wilkins on February 17, 1969. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Mesa, Arizona Temple. Together they have 2 daughters, Janene and Jill, and 2 sons, Wes and Seth. After serving in the Air Force, Don worked in the telecommunications field most of his life. After retiring, he worked part time in the insurance business and enjoyed traveling with his wife.

Donald is known for his love of music, singing and playing the guitar. Don taught his children how to sing and harmonize. Gardening was always one of his hobbies. He loved to play, watch, and coach his children in their various sports. He loved to study history and the scriptures. Don always had a special place in his heart for those in need. He had a strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and served in various callings in the church throughout his life.

Don fought many years with various health issues. In the past few years, he has battled with Vascular Dementia and Parkinsons Disease. We want to thank the health care individuals and Visiting Angels for their service and kindness to Donald.

Don was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. He is survived by his wife Teddi and four children: Janene and Larry Dutson with their five children (Stephanie, Cameron and wife Stacie, Hope, Jessica and Katie); Jill and Mark Welch and their three children (Stockton, Abby and Haley); Wes and Kiersten Patterson and their four children (Payton, Drew, Tate and Beau); and Seth Patterson and his three children (Natalie, Luke and Nicole) and one great- granddaughter {C.J.}.  He is also survived by four brothers.

A viewing will be held on Friday, January 15th at 11:30-12:30 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints building, located at 102 East 1400 South, Bountiful, Utah. The funeral service will start at 1:00 pm in the chapel.
