Donna Lee

After a long illness, Donna Jean Bateman Lee, 85, passed away early in the morning on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at the North Canyon Care Center in Bountiful, Utah, surrounded by her husband and other members of her family. Donna was born on November 5, 1926 to Gloyd James Bateman and Eva Pierce Bateman in Salt Lake City, Utah. She graduated from Union High School in Union, Oregon.
She married Walter Scott Lee on October 17, 1946 in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they had 7 children. In October they would have celebrated 66 years of marriage.
Donna was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She often served as a teacher in Primary, Young Women’s and Relief Society. She taught Early Morning Seminary for several years. She served several missions including Family to Family Book of Mormon, as a guide on Temple Square, and as a missionary to the Washington D.C. South Mission. She served in both the Name Extraction Program and Church Records and Memberships. She served as an Ordinance Workerin the Salt Lake Temple and was one of the First Ordinance Workers in the new Bountiful Temple. She enjoyed membership in the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, served as an election judge, and was zealous in her family history work.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers (Duane and Gerald), Daughter (Robyn Evans), and 2 granddaughters (Joclynn Evans and Amber Lee).
She is survived by her husband, Walter; children Terry Clark (Wayne) of Shelley, Idaho; Kathy Hall (David) of Davenport, Iowa; Scott Lee (Kim) of Las Vegas, Nevada; Christy Hayes of Bountiful, Utah; Cindy Peterson (Kevin) of Kaysville, Utah, and Mark Lee (Tammy) of North Salt Lake, Utah. She is survived by sisters: Sherrill Smith, Shannon (Gene) McKinney, and Judy Frizzell (Larry); brothers: Stephen Bateman (Carol) and Jim Bateman (Loris); sister-in-law; Lila (Will) Thompson; brothers-in-law: Pace Lee (Beverly) and Harry Lee. She is survived by 42 living grandchildren and 85 living great grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank and express appreciation to the staff and caregivers at North Canyon Care Center and Vista Care Hospice.
Funeral services will be Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the LDS Bountiful 53rd Ward Chapel, 1356 N 650 E, Bountiful, Utah 84010. There will be a viewing on Friday, September 21st from 6:00-800 at Russon Brothers Funeral Home, 295 N Main, Bountiful, Utah and from 11:45-12:45 at the 53rd Ward Chapel on Saturday. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Bountiful. Services will be under the direction of Russon Brothers Mortuary.
