Donna Mae Zenger Hansen

Our dear mother, Donna Mae Zenger, was the first child of Frank H. Zenger, Sr. and Ada Green Zenger when she was born on March 20, 1927 in Salt Lake City. Mother graduated from South High during WWII and in 1945 married her high school sweetheart, Byron S. Easton (1925-1994), changing her life as a hometown girl into wife of a soldier who would become a career Army officer. They traveled many times across the United States and around the world during their 21-year marriage.

Along the way, four daughters and four sons were born into their family. All eight — Cheryl, Vicki, David, Terri, Steve, Drew, Diana, and Dale — survive Mother today. In 1972, Mother married widower Fay L. Hansen (1915-1998), who, with his own seven children — Darl, Gary, Beth, Colleen, Janet, Will, and Ann — created a greatly expanded family tree. Combining these fifteen children with their spouses, children, grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren, Mother left more than 300 living descendants to mourn her passing when she died Nov. 17, 2016 in Springfield, Missouri.

Mother was preceded in death by her parents and youngest brother Dwayne, leaving surviving siblings Garth, Frank, and Nadine, as well as Edna Joy and Clara Jean, Byron’s two dear sisters . We will all miss her very much.

Donna Mae Zenger Hansen’s viewing is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 25, 6 to 8 p.m., at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main Street, Bountiful. Funeral will follow on Saturday, Nov. 26, 2016, 11 a.m. MST, in the Bountiful Utah 37th Ward chapel,(1540 N. 400 East in Bountiful), with a viewing prior from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Interment in Bountiful City Cemetery on Monday, Nov. 28, 2016.
