BOUNTIFUL, UT – Donna Rae Hatch Bate was born on February 26, 1926 in Salt Lake City to Edna Holbrook and Frank Jackson Hatch. She passed away at home August 3, 2018 at the age of 92. She spent her life in the Bountiful area, attending Davis High and the University of Utah where she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority and Spurs. In September 1946, she married her sweetheart, Vaughn Bate, in the Salt Lake Temple. They enjoyed a lasting partnership based on love, respect and mutual interests. She was a faithful member of the LDS Church serving as Young Women’s, Primary and Relief Society President. She served a mission, with her husband in Riverside, CA and worked in the Bountiful Temple. Donna Rae was a devoted wife and mother who loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was very proud of her family and their many accomplishments. She loved to see pictures and hear about what they were doing. She was blessed with great friends. She especially enjoyed her Alpha Chi, bridge and golf associations. The family is thankful for incredible neighbors and the loving care she received from Peak Specialty Services, especially Annette Wood and Ina Marcus.
She is survived by her children Joanne West (Neil), Shauna Pollmann (Steven), Lowell (Shari) Bate, 15 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, sister Allie Mae Posselli, sister-in-law Shirley Hatch. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vaughn F. Bate, parents and brother, F. Jay Hatch.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday August 8, 2018, at the Bountiful 54th Ward, 540 North 1200 East. A viewing will be held for friends and family from 9:45 to 10:45 before the services. Interment will be in the Bountiful City Cemetery.
