Donna was an amazing wife, mother, and example of selfless loving service to all the lives that she touched. From her early career as a nurse to her final days she was devoted to improving the lives that she touched, consistently putting the needs of others above herself.
She was a devoted wife to Don and loved him with all her heart until her last day. She was proud of the life that they build and the home they were able to provide to all that they knew. Her role as a mother went far beyond her children Renée and James, extending to countless others in the community. She was always there to cook a meal, give a ride or help everyone that was fortunate enough to know her. Creating plates of cookies and treats at each holiday was one of her deep joys to spread to all she knew. She was a proud grandmother to Justin, Marissa, Ben and Jenna and I’m sure that if you spent any time with her, you heard a story about one of them. Visiting her home you won’t find a wall with out a craft, drawing or photo of the grandkids.
Donna poured her heart into the Boy Scouts over many years, constantly helping, guiding, mentoring, pushing and occasionally dragging so many young men through the program that it was amazing she could remember them all. She truly believed in the program and its ability to help mold young men. Her pride in the work was clear countless times when she forwarded a post or pointed out one of her Scouts.
She also served diligently and faithfully in many positions in the church, she was honored to serve and grateful beyond words for those who served her. She was dedicated to the work and happy to call so many people around her a friend.
Donna will be truly missed by all those who knew her. She leaves a large hole in our lives that is only filled with the knowledge that she is in a better place watching over those that she loved in this life waiting to be reunited.
She is survived by her husband Don Whitaker, daughter Renee Whitaker, son James Whitaker, grandson Justin Whitaker, granddaughter Marissa Whitaker, grandson Ben Whitaker and granddaughter Jenna Whitaker.
