NORTH SALT LAKE, UT — Donna Lynn Wilson born July 25, 1947 in Pottstown, Pennsylvania passed away on December 20, 2012. Donna is the daughter of Donald and June Beacraft. She majored in English and minored in Spanish at BYU where she graduated with her bachelor’s degree in 1969. She was a true-blue Cougar fan. Donna was a much loved junior high and high school teacher for nearly 40 years. She also mentored and tutored many others in a variety of subjects and life in general. She married the late Roger Boyd Wilson on October 10, 1974. Donna was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many positions throughout her life.
For 14 years, she suffered many physical afflictions but never uttered one word of complaint. She was the epitome of strength. Even though she was limited physically, she influenced the lives of so many with her unconditional love, words of wisdom and unshakable faith in the Savior. It was impossible to be in her presence and not come away all the better for it.
Donna loved her two daughters Alyssa and Megan with all her heart. It was demonstrated in every part of her life. In addition, she was lovingly known as “Mama Donna” to countless numbers of people throughout the world. She enjoyed reading, shopping, playing the piano, serving in the Los Angeles temple, spending time with friends & family and denying the fact that she was addicted to solitaire on the computer, which she would play for hours on end. She had a wonderful and witty sense of humor, even in the toughest of times. She was an animal lover and had many cherished pets throughout her life, most recently her “granddog” Hurley.
She is the cherished mother of two children: Alyssa Wilson and Megan Wilson. She is survived by her daughters, her sister Susan Hambly (Steven) of Simi Valley, CA, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her older sister JoAnn Williams.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Shriners Hospital Mexico Travel Fund to help children receive life changing medical care (801-536-3500).
