Dorothy Blundell

May 10, 1926 — December 30, 2013

Five lonely years have passed since Dorothy lost her best friend. She has now embarked on her reunion journey to savor eternity with Larry on December 30, 2013.
Dorothy was born May 10, 1926 to George and Irene Lawrence. Being both the eldest child and a female in the male dominated Lawrence family, ensured that Dorothy had ample opportunity to develop her independence and strong personality.
Dorothy found and married the love of her life, Larry, March 21, 1947 in the Salt Lake City Temple. Their strong conviction to their faith has been a well from which their prodigy has often relied on in troubled times. Mom loved the gospel and served in many positions including Relief Society President.
Anyone who knew Dorothy or Larry, knew they were both perfectionists. Dorothy graduated from Stevens Henagar Business College where she was one of a very few who ever were able to type 120 words per minute on a manual typewriter.
Dorothy enjoyed nothing more than hosting a party. Everything had to be perfect from the food down to the meticulously hand-written place cards. Dorothy was a chief supreme and you have not tasted heaven until you have had a piece of her cheese cake. She will be sorely missed by her children, Brent (Carolyn), Shawnee (Inoke) and Sam (Lisa) as well as her many grand and great grandchildren.
Shawnee over the last several months has rendered tireless service to Dorothy. Word cannot express our appreciation to Shawnee.
Per Dorothy’s last wishes, and who would dare not conform to those, there will only be a private family graveside celebration of her life.
