Dorothy Gwen Porter Randall

Our sweet mother Dorothy Gwen Porter Randall, a longtime resident of Centerville Utah,  passed away peacefully February 12, 2018 at Life Care Center in Bountiful.  
Dorothy was born September 18, 1935 in Ogden, Utah to Edward LeRoy & Marjorie Eliza Porter.  She was raised in Roy, Utah later graduating from Weber High School.  She met Stanley Tingey Randall on a blind date and they were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on April 8, 1960.  
Mom was an amazing cook and spent many years working in the kitchens at Mueller Park Jr High & Centerville Jr High.  She made the best Sunday roasts only to be topped off by her mouthwatering rice pudding.  In the fall she would spend her days and weekends canning and teaching her daughter's and daughter in laws to can her favorite family recipes (which we all treasure).  
In the summer you could find her down at the ball park yelling loud for whichever kid of hers was playing ball.  Later on in life you could find her at her grandkids games doing the same thing.  She loved spending time with the kids and grandkids and having them over for family events.  Her Easter egg hunts and 4th of July parade and breakfasts were some of our favorites.  She loved to watch her kids and grandkids perform and was always there to cheer them on and support them with whatever they were doing.
She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  She and her sweetheart served together in the Bountiful LDS Temple for 10 years.  She found joy in serving the Lord in many church callings and was consistently learning about the gospel.  
Survived by her husband Stanley Tingey Randall; Children: Cindy (Duane) Schaer, Connie (Jay) Barth, Corey (Loriel) Randall, Chris (Julie) Randall, Curtis (Erin) Randall, Cheryl (Dan) Kofford, Craig (Anne) Randall; 31 Grandchildren; 12 Great-Grandchildren.  Preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, 4 sisters and 1 great-grandson.
A viewing will be held in her honor on Monday, February 19, 2018 from 6 – 8 pm at Russon  Mortuary, 295 N Main St in Bountiful and 1 hour prior to service on Tuesday from 9:45 – 10:45 am at the LDS Chapel on 900 S 400 East Centerville.  Funeral services will follow at 11 am.  Interment at the Centerville City Cemetery.  The family would like to thank Life Care Center of Bountiful for their wonderful care and support, especially her dear sweet friend Rose.
