Just short of her 87th birthday our sweet mother passed away the morning of November 19, 2012. We will miss her terribly but are comforted knowing she is now reunited with her eternal companion.
Dorothy, the first of five children was born to William Silas Tracy and Dorothy Maude Davies in Lake Point, Utah. She graduated from Cypress High School and later served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Western Canada. She had a beautiful voice and loved to sing. She met her husband on a successful blind date and was later married in the Salt Lake Temple June 8, 1954.
She enjoyed lunch dates with her two younger sisters and evenings playing cards with family and friends. She loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren.
She lived a faithful and virtuous life serving others and holding many callings in the Church. She was selfless and sacrificed much for others. She was valiant in her testimony of Jesus Christ and an example to all in truly living the Gospel.
Dorothy leaves behind two daughters, Marta (Greg) Jones of Bountiful, Utah, Krista (Jeff) Hall of Farmington, Utah, seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren, two sisters, Carma Trump and Myrna Scoffield. Preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Ronald Tracy and Karl Tracy.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 23, 2012 at the Bountiful Utah Stone Creek Stake Center, 990 N. 100 W. Friends and family may visit 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery.
The family would like to thank “A Step Forward Home Health and Hospice” for the excellent, attentive care and kindness they provided our mother, especially Althea, Susan, Cassie, and Julie.
