Dorothy May Scogings Jaggi Aug. 26, 1924 Aug. 7, 2011
Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away Aug. 7, 2011 from a sudden stroke. Dorothy was born, lived and died within a 10 mile radius in Salt Lake City, Utah. She is the daughter of William David Scogings and Winnifred MacKenzie, who also died on Aug. 7, 33 years ago. While attending numerous dances at the Coconut Grove and Saltair, Dorothy married her favorite dance partner, Stanley Robert Jaggi on Feb. 2, 1947. After graduating from South High School, she happily worked for Western Union for 39 years. She loved to work, and continued at the SLC School Food Services for an additional 19 years. Dorothys favorite pastimes were traveling, (especially with grandkids), visiting, quilting, and card playing. She was an avid reader. Dorothy was a member of the D.U.P. the Chatterbox lunch group and her Birthday Club friends. Dorothy was a loving, compassionate angel. She lived her life selflessly. She was proud of her family. She left an innumerable amount of treasured notes and cards to family, friends and neighbors. Greater still, she spent immeasurable time in thoughtful service. The extended family was extended to everyone she knew. She showed her membership in the LDS Church by her actions. Survivors include: Sisters: Betty Martinson, Rosalee Ritchie, and Judy Shelton. Seven children: Robert (Judy), Raymond (Linda), Glen, Sherri (Robert) Hauser, Christine (Roger) Crown, John, Don. 22 grandchildren, 41 Great-grandchildren. We are honored to be part of her heritage. Proceeded in death by: Husband, Stanley Jaggi; sister, Carrie Hulterstrom, grandson Steven Rowley and great-grandson Stewart Jaggi. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at 12:00 Noon in the LeGrand Ward, 1078 S. McClelland St. (1040 East), SLC, UT.
