Dorothy Tucker McArthur

April 14, 1937 — February 24, 2018

Early on February 24th, 2018, our dear sweet Mother, Dorothy Tucker McArthur, was reunited with her beloved husband Glen.  She had missed him so much and looked forward to the day that they could be together again.
Dorothy Tucker McArthur was born April 14th, 1937, in Castle Gate, Utah.  Mom was the youngest child of Valten and Lorna Tucker.  She loved her parents, her brother Art and sister Loy with all her heart and they loved her!  What a party they all must be having in Heaven now along with her sister Ilene who died at just 2 years old.
Dorothy loved being raised in Fairview, Utah surrounded by many Aunts, Uncles and cousins.  She said she had a wonderful childhood and was blessed with good parents and family.
Dorothy loved North Sanpete High School and had many friends who remained dear to her all her life.  She was a straight "A" student.  She performed in plays, was an excellent typist, and a beautiful seamstress.  Mom loved to read and to learn.  She went back to school to get her bachelor's degree and taught first grade at Bountiful Elementary for ten years.  She loved those kids!
Dorothy married Keith Glen McArthur December 16th, 1955.  They were married and sealed in the Manti, Utah Temple.  Six children were blessed to be born into their family.
Dorothy was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  She served in many church callings such as Relief Society President, Young Women's President, Primary Presidency and Stake Young Women's President.  Mom and Dad served as Temple Workers in the Bountiful Temple.  She enjoyed serving for ten years as a tour guide in the Church Office Building.
Dorothy was actively involved with the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.  She also loved the Literary Arts Guild she belonged to and the many friends she made there.
Dorothy's grandchildren enjoyed the sleepovers, ice cream, games (Don't Eat Pete!) and what a great cook she was!  She was especially known for her rolls, pies, sweet rolls, and of course cookies!  She also has many great-grandchildren that she dearly loved as well.
Dorothy is survived by her six children: Robert Glen McArthur, Camille (Doug) Jessop, Jacqueline (Ken) Romney, Kaylene (Eric) Parkinson, Mark Tucker (Angela) McArthur and Matthew Layne McArthur.  Sixteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren with more on the way!  She is preceded in death by her husband Glen, brother Arthur Tucker, and sisters Donna Ilene Tucker and Emma Loy Pack.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 3rd at the Bountiful 25th Ward Chapel (1500 South 600 East, Bountiful) at 1:00 p.m.  There will be a visitation just prior to the funeral service from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.  There will also be a visitation Friday, March 2nd at Russon Mortuary (295 North Main, Bountiful) from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
