Dot was born on November  17, 1928 to Heber Grant and Vera Swensen Bishop, in Hinckley, Utah. She is the fifth of ten children.
Dot worked very hard from a young age helping around the house with her siblings. She graduated from Hinckley High School, continued her education at Snow Collage and SUU.  She then faithfully served an LDS Mission to the Great Lakes Mission, then married Richard Albert Knott for all time and eternity in the Manti Temple, September 19th, 1952. They were blessed with four children, Steven, Margo, Teresa and Janell. While raising their family she work at Hill Air Force Base as a riveter on the airplanes and at Utah Telephone Credit Union for 14 years as a loan officer.
Dot loved her family and loved serving the lord as a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints serving in all organizations of the church.  Some of her favorite callings were serving with Richard at Temple Square as a tour guide and two years at the Beehive House.
