Dwain Ross Morrill, 91 of Bountiful, Ut. passed away peacefully at his home November 24, 2014. Dwain was the third child born to Leland and Virley Ross Morrill on July 17, 1923 in Tridell, Utah. Dwain grew up on a farm and worked very hard as his father passed away when he was 14 years old and he was the oldest boy.
Dwain enlisted in the Navy and for 3 years served his country in WWII. After returning home he became an expert carpenter and met his future bride Mary Afton Barclay. They were married November 25, 1947 in the S.L. Temple. She passed away on May 28, 2011 after more than 63 years of marriage. Dwain worked for 35 years as a Crawford Door Installer and used his carpenter skills to build many homes.
He was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving as a bishop and in many other positions. He served a mission in St. George, Utah with his wife Mary, and served in the St. George temple for many years.
Dwain was very kind and thoughtful of others; always willing to give service. He was a devoted husband and father and had a good sense of humor, with a good joke or story ready to brighten someone’s day. His hobbies were building play houses for his grandchildren, building furniture and making Mary’s ideas a reality.
Dwain is survived by his three children: Jane (Charles) Driscoll, Andrew (Holley) Morrill, and Leland (Sharlene) Morrill, his sisters Lois Price and Rhea (Herb) Williams, 15 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He will be sorely missed by all of them. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, his parents and siblings: Maurice, Venna, Sherl Clair, Lela and one grandchild.
