E. Nordell Weeks passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 18, 2016. He was born in Vernal, Utah to William Beck Weeks and Mary Donna Erickson Weeks on July 30th, 1939.
His childhood was spent in Vernal, Utah. He was the senior class president of the first graduating class of Bountiful High School, in 1957, and captain of the basketball team. He served in the Central Atlantic States LDS mission. He graduated from the University of Utah law school and practiced law for over 40 years in Los Angeles and Salt Lake City.
He married Carol Lynne Howard in the Salt Lake Temple August 19, 1966. They have 5 children, Eric, Ryan (Nikola), Amy (Vance), Tara (Erik), Laurie (Brandon), former daughters-in-law Trisha and Maren, and 20 grandchildren.
His love of basketball continued throughout his life. He enjoyed pick-up games with friends and family. He had a mean hook shot and sharp left elbow. He was an avid reader and book collector. He enjoyed taking his family backpacking in the Uinta and the Wind Rivers mountains. He was a leader and enjoyed helping people and solving problems. Through working on his rental properties, he taught his children the value of hard work. Nordell served as Bishop of the Bountiful 6th Ward. He enjoyed working with the youth and serving in various capacities.
Nordell was preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws, his sister Barbara Faye and his brothers-in-law Benjamin Phillips, Glen Howard and David Cook. He is survived by his wife Carol; his sisters Coy Phillips and Susan (Dennis) Horton; and his children and grandchildren. Nordell's family would like to thank the staff at Envision Hospice, the staff with Heritage Place, and his many lifelong friends.
A viewing will be held Tuesday, June 21, 2016 from 6-8 pm at Russon Brothers Mortuary 295 N Main St. In Bountiful, UT. Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at 11:00 am with a viewing from 9:30-10:30 am at the Bountiful Heights Stake Center 33 S Moss Hill Dr. Bountiful, Utah.
