Edith Muir Deppe

Edith May Muir Deppe passed from this life on Sunday, July 16, 2006 at the age of 92, of causes incident to age. She was born June 20, 1914 in Woods Cross, Utah to Dan Muir and Georgenia Barlow Muir. She married James Earl Deppe on October 12, 1940. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Earl preceded her in death in 1981. They raised two children in West Bountiful: Earl DeVon Bonieta Deppe and JoyLyn Deppe. She is survived by six grandchildren: Kevin Earl Rosemarie Deppe, Keith DeVon Dayna Deppe, Carla Collin Wood, Brian Loyal Michelle Deppe; Erin Ron Foster, and Lara Deppe; 20 great-grandchildren, Steven, Michael, Jason, Ryan, Rachel, Jantzen, Jadrienne, Savannah, Sierra, Dustin, Dallin, Sarah, Alex, Elise, Sarah, Seth, Arjay, Meghan, Jase and Madalyn. Two of her grandchildren preceded her in death. Her siblings Harold Lucille Muir and Aurelia Muir Lawrence Graham also preceded her. Edith was educated in Davis County schools and worked at the Woods Cross Post Office for many years. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and worked in various auxiliary organizations over the years. Earl and Edith fulfilled an honorable mission to the Harrisburg, PA. mission. They served in Millersburg, PA., where they made many eternal friends. Edith liked words and writing. She was a co-author of ?West Bountiful – A Pictorial History? published in 1989, wrote a weekly column for the Davis County Clipper for a time, and on occasion wrote poems, roadshows, etc. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 20, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at the West Bountiful 2nd Ward Chapel, 840 North 800 West where friends may call from 11:45 a.m.- 12:45 p.m. at the church prior to services.
