Edith "Pauline" Layton Brown

November 6, 1929 — August 9, 2019

Our beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother peacefully passed away in St. George, UT, surrounded by loving family members at the age of 89.  She was born to Ezra James and Bessie Fern Hyde Layton in Layton UT.  She grew up in Layton, graduating from Davis High School, Kaysville UT in 1948.  She attended Weber State College and worked briefly in a doctor's office before meeting the love of her life D. Clark Brown.
She married her sweetheart David Clark Brown in the Manti LDS Temple on August 16, 1950. Three months after marriage Clark left to serve a two-year mission in Eastern Canada.  During his time away she kept busy with a job at Hill Air Force Base.  After his return they started their family. They were blessed with five children: David L. Brown (deceased), Martin (Marty) J. Brown (Christine), Morgan UT; Ann B. Johnson (Michael), Riverdale UT; Kevin C. Brown (Jean), St. George, UT; Stephanie J. Kunzler (John), Woods Cross, UT.
She was an active member of the LDS church, where she held several callings, one of her favorite callings was working in the Genealogy Library. She also served a two-year mission with Clark in the Ogden Temple. She loved the Gospels and her heavenly Father.  During her lifetime she was able to travel or live in various States, like California, Colorado, Connecticut, Minnesota, Nebraska and Oregon. She spent many hours reading and loved crocheting, sewing, quilting and canning.  Her joy was her family and she will be missed by all who loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, her son David, a brother Vance and a sister Donna Layton Peirce.  She is survived by her four children, 2 sisters Anna Rae Schmidt, California; Janet Hart, California; and one brother Glen, Tennessee;  eleven grandchildren, five great grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews other family members friends and loved ones.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 16, 2019 at Russon Mortuary, 1941 North Main, Farmington, where a viewing will be held Thursday evening, August 15, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Friday morning 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment- Lindquist Memorial Park Cemetery, 1867 N. Fairfield Road, Layton UT.
