Effie "Rita" Loreta Anderson

Effie Loreta (Rita) Popham Anderson passed away on December 27, 2016.  Rita was the daughter of John Bernard Popham and Carrie Louise Woods.  She was born on September 28, 1925 in Winterhaven, Florida. She grew up in Jessup, Georgia.  She met her husband Ray Anderson in Sunday School in Pensacola, Florida in 1943 where she was serving a 6 month mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and he was in training to become a navy pilot.  They married in 1944 in Charleston, South Carolina. Rita was a resident of Bountiful, Utah for over 40 years and then moved to Centerville.  Rita was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints all of her life with a strong testimony of the Savior Jesus Christ.  She is preceded in death by her husband Ray Anderson, son Ray Arthur Anderson Jr., and son John Popham Anderson.  She is survived by her son Dean Alan Anderson (Kathy), son Gregg Ellis Anderson (Ellen), daughter-in-law Jana Anderson (John), 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. We will miss her warm and gracious presence in our lives.

Funeral services and viewing will be held on January 3, 2017 at the Centerville 19th Ward, 900 South 400 East, Centerville.  Viewing  9:30 a.m. – 10:30, Funeral 11:00 a.m.
