Eileen McHugh Jeppson

Eileen Jeppson died at home Friday, February 27, 2004 in Bountiful, Utah. She was born April 11, 1918 to Percy McHugh and Nanella Dobson McHugh Jones in Lewistown, Montana. Eileen grew up on a cattle ranch in northern Montana and attended a one-room schoolhouse. She graduated from the University of Montana at Missoula in education. She taught school in Montana, California and Utah. During World War II she was a B-1 mechanic for Boeing Aircraft in Seattle building B-17 bombers for the war effort. She met her spouse, Clyde Harold Jeppson while teaching school in Los Angeles. She married Clyde on August 15, 1947 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Clyde was a widower with three young children. Together they raised seven children in the Bountiful area. She retired from the Davis School District as an elementary school librarian. She was a long time member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She served in numerous church positions, including a full-time mission at the Family History Center in San Diego. She was an avid reader and weather watcher. She dearly loved her grandkids and great-grandkids. She is preceded in death by her parents, a younger brother and sister, and her husband. She is survived by one aunt, Wilma Moss; two brothers, Leslie and David Jones; and sister, Betty Horsley. Eileen is also survived by all her children: Carol, Charles, Stephen, Lawrence, Dana, Wayne, and Alta and their families. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 5, 2004 at 12:00 noon at the North Canyon Stake Center, 965 East Oakwood Drive, Bountiful 3300 South, off Bountiful Blvd. Friends may call Thursday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, and Friday morning from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment-Bountiful City Cemetery. Special thanks to Alta Williams and Carol Jeppson for the loving care they gave our mother during the last few months of her life.
