Eileen Rich

Our loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 in Bountiful, Utah.
Eileen was born February 5, 1924 in Grace, Idaho to Nels Edward Simonson and Christine Neilsen. She married Clifford A. Rich on December 2, 1945 in Idaho. They were sealed in the Jordan River Temple November 3, 1982. Mom was raised on a farm and always knew the value of hard work and staying busy. Mom enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to have them come visit and to stay with her. Often the children would go to visit for a day but not return home to their parents for 3-4 days. Mom was an awesome grandma! She loved to cook for her family, with her chocolate cake, chocolate chip cookies and cinnamon rolls a common treat. Mom loved to make quilts, a year ago she made 17 baby quilts in one year to give to her grandchildren so that all would have a baby quilt made by her. She also liked to crochet, to knit and to do scrapbooks which she did for all of her children and grandchildren. Her favorite thing was to spend time doing anything with her family. She will be greatly missed by her family.
Eileen is survived by her daughter Lynette (Rich) Frank of Salt Lake City, Utah; daughter Kathleen (Jay R.) Bangerter of Kaysville, Utah; and son Greg Rich of Woods Cross, Utah. She has four granddaughters and eight grandsons and 8 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Clifford Rich and all of her brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at the Bountiful 37th Ward, 1540 North 400 East, Bountiful. Viewings will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at the Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 N. Main, and from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services.
