Elaine Allen Beeton

Elaine Allen Beeton, age 83, passed away peacefully in her sleep at 7:40 A.M. on February 20, 2019, at the University of Utah Hospital after having suffered a stroke. Her last night was spent surrounded by her loved ones.

Elaine was born in Kelsey, Texas on December 15, 1935, while her parents were serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Elaine was the daughter of Dena Winkel Allen and Luris Porter Allen, the fifth child in a family of eight children.

Elaine attended Brigham Young University in the fall of 1954 where she graduated in Elementary Education.  She was sealed to her sweetheart Martell Beeton in the Manti Temple on June  7, 1957. After spending one year in the military at Ft. Ben Harrison in Indianapolis, Indiana, and two years at Ft. Belvoir, Virginia, they moved to Burbank, California. They resided there 19 years, before returning to live in Bountiful, Utah.

Elaine was the sweetest of wives and mothers, always putting the needs of her family before her own. Her husband describes her as "the perfect wife, companion, and mother of our children, with a kind, quiet, humble dignity." A devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she was an example of a true disciple of Christ, serving in numerous church positions and as a stake missionary. She especially loved working with children, and was talented in art, dancing, music, and all the domestic arts. She had a beautiful voice, singing in various choirs in college and throughout her life.

Elaine leaves behind her loving husband, Martell, daughter Janis Rae (Michael Kelson), son Halbert Martell, son Daniel Terry (Christine Nelson), daughter Carol Ann, and son Bret Gerald (Theresa Hamm), seventeen grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 23, 2019 at the Val Verda 2nd & 9th Ward Chapel located at 3317 South 800 West, Bountiful, Utah 84010, where a viewing will be held from 12:45 P.M. to 1:45 P.M. prior to services.
