Elaine Fay Gilbert McReynolds born on May 14, 1931 in Riverton, Utah passed away on January 16, 2018. Elaine grew up in the Riverton area where her father owned a farm. She attended Jordan High School. She married J. Ray McReynolds (deceased) and raised her four boys and two girls in the Poplar Grove area of Salt Lake City. Elaine cherished her children and her role as a mother. She enjoyed being Jr. Sunday School Coordinator in the L.D.S church where she could spend time with children, both her own and others. In her free time, Elaine enjoyed a good romance novel and creating embroidery. Her favorite place to vacation was Hawaii and she traveled there several times with her husband. She was happiest around her large and happy family that included: 16 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. Family was the most important thing in life to Elaine; she loved us all unconditionally. Elaine was always happy to see and be with any member of her family. She will be sorely missed but we know that when we see her again, she will be so happy to see us no matter how long it has been. Although, it is very sad to see Elaine pass on, we know she is happy being reunited with her favorite family member and eternal companion, Ray.
Elaine leaves behind her children and their spouses; Gary McReynolds, Brent (Kellie) McReynolds, Kim (Pat) McReynolds, Ron (Barb) McReynolds, Kathryn (Derek) Peterson, Brenda (Daren) Grant. She also leaves many grandchildren, great grandchildren, siblings, and her many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Ray McReynolds and parents Albert and Johanna Gilbert.
