Elda Huff

September 10, 1930 — November 25, 2014

Our wonderful Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister and Friend Elda Marie Perkins Powel Huff began a new journey on November 25th, 2014 at the age of 84.

We can only imagine the great party in heaven as she reunites with her parents; Edith and Clarence Perkins, brothers; Lamar and Verl Perkins, sister-in-laws; Janita and Verna Perkins, and grandchildren; Larry and Shannon Powel.

I’m sure, with pencil in hand, she is making lists of all in attendance. We love you and will miss you, and we can not wait for the day when we are on your list and reunited with you.

Elda has had a long life of love and service. She retired from Sperry Univac/Unysis after more than 30 years of service. She took great pride in her work and enjoyed her many friends and co-workers.

She then began working with her sweetheart, Robert as campground hosts for the Forest Service. They continued this for the next 3 years and thoroughly enjoyed it.

They enjoyed working together so much that they wanted to continue this. They began working for Farmington City, caring for the parks. They loved this job and the many friends they made there. After 19 years of service Mom’s health declined and they were no longer able to work. Dad has been lovingly caring for her for the last 3 years.

Elda is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She loves the gospel and has a testimony of its teachings. She greatly anticipated the day that she would be reunited with her loved ones in eternal glory.

Elda was born September 10, 1930 in Randolph, Utah to Edith and Clarence Perkins, who later settled in Farmington, Utah. She was the second of eight children.

In 1947 she married Larry Powel. She was later remarried to Robert Huff in 1960. They settled in Bountiful where they raised their children together and enjoyed the many years they lived there. In 2012 they relocated to Syracuse, where they greatly appreciated all the kindness and generosity they received from their new neighbors and ward members.

She is survived by her husband Robert Huff, her 6 children, Donna Powel Ashe (Alvin), Michael Powel, Steven Powel (Kristie), Barbara Huff Stucki (Doyle), Teresa Huff Howe (Robert), Julie Huff Turner (Derik), 2 brothers, 3 sisters, 2 step children and many grand children and great-grand children.

Funeral services will be held at Russon Brothers Mortuary 1941 North Main Street Farmington, Utah. Viewing times will be Monday, December 1st from 6:00 – 8:00pm and Tuesday, December 2nd from 9:45 – 10:45am. Funeral services will be on Tuesday December 2 at 11:00am.

We would like to thank Horizon Hospice for the compassionate service and care they provided for our sweet mother. A special thanks to Debbie and Shelly.
