1933-2012

Eldon Larson Young passed away peacefully in his sleep Saturday November 3, 2012, at his home in Herriman. He was born June 23, 1933, in Salt Lake City, the son of Florence Linea Larson and Eldon Milton Young. After graduating from East High School, he served a mission to Sweden for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Upon his return he attended the University of Utah where he graduated with a Law degree. Following his mission Eldon married Marita Holmstrom. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple and are the parents of three children. In 1968, they moved with their family to Alaska, where he retired as an assistant director for HUD. Upon his retirement they moved to Anacortes, WA. Marita passed away in September 2008.
In January 2010 Eldon married Raquel Rivero Asay, and they enjoyed almost three wonderful years together, and had the opportunity to serve their church as ward missionaries. He was a person of integrity and a faithful member of the LDS Church all his life, serving in various capacities. He is survived by his wife, Raquel, his three children and their spouses, Charlotte (Robert) Brown of Vancouver, WA, Steven (Linnea) Young of Denver, CO, Linda Thomas of St. George, UT; eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, four stepchildren and five step grandchildren; and his sister, Carol Wright of California. Preceded in death by his parents and his first wife.
Funeral services will be on Friday, November 9, 2012 at the Herriman Hills Ward, 13122 South Herriman Rose Blvd. (5400 West), at 11:00 AM. The family will greet friends Thursday, from 6:00 to 7:30 pm at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 255 South 200 East, and at the ward Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 am.
