“SMITTY”

Smitty beloved husband, great dad and loving grandfather, 87, passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at his home surrounded by family.

Born June 3, 1936, in Pearisburg, Giles Virginia to Ben Ira and Ruby Smith. Smitty was in the Air Force from 1955 to 1958. Married Carrie Simmons August 6, 1962. He worked for LeVoy’s as a sewing machine mechanic and later retired from there.

Smitty was an active hunter and outdoorsman, enjoyed traveling, visiting family and friends. He loved to build doll houses, baby beds etc. He had a love for old cars.

All who knew him loved him. He was always there to help others…He will be greatly missed.

Survived by his wife, Carrie, daughter Christine and husband Bill Davies. Grandson Zachary and wife Heather Davies, Great Grandchildren Aubree Grace and Ryker Davies. Sisters Debra Jo and husband Tom Olsen, Dwan Knapton, brother Benny R and wife Ruby Ann Smith and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by brother Ira Wayne and wife Bobbie Smith, sister Margaret Schultz, brother Larry David and wife Alberta Smith.

Graveside Dedication Service will be Monday, November 20, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. at Syracuse City Cemetery. Address 1250 South 1000 West Syracuse UT 84075.
