Elizabeth Ann Proctor

May 15, 1943 — February 15, 2022

Elizabeth Ann Proctor, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away on February 15th, 2022, at the age of 78 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s.
Ann was born in Scunthorpe, England, on May 15th, 1943, to Freddie Tomlinson and Mary Anderson. Freddie died in battle over France in 1944. Mary married Kenneth Jones Sr. who adopted Ann and raised her in a loving Christian family. Ann and her family were converted to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in which she was baptized on October 11th, 1958. She remained a faithful active member of the church throughout her life.
She met the love of her life and eternal companion Arlyn Proctor while serving in the North British Mission. Following their missions, they started writing and a courtship began with Ann immigrating to Utah in 1964. Ann and Arlyn were married in the Manti Temple on August 28th, 1965. They lived in Cedar City, Utah, then moved to Bountiful and eventually built their current home in Centerville where they raised their family. Ann worked for Sam Weller Books for 24 years where she enjoyed meeting people and sharing her love for books. Ann was one of the most cheerful, caring and selfless people you could ever meet and was a friend to many. We will miss her quick wit, laugh and happy attitude that uplifted us at times when we needed it most.
Ann served selflessly in many church callings including Relief Society President. Her most significant service was as a wonderful wife, mom, grandma, sister and aunt. She loved quilting, spending time with family and friends, especially the trips to Newport Beach, Panguitch and camping on the Paunsaugunt. Ann was a second mom to many of her children’s friends who always felt welcome and loved her British accent. She especially loved her grandchildren and cared deeply for her nieces and nephews. Ann also had a special relationship with her granddaughter Ashley Proctor, whom she and Arlyn raised and loved as a daughter.
Arlyn provided Ann with the most loving care and companionship during these last few years of her illness. His example of love and patience was a testament of his love for her. Thank you to numerous friends and family who have supported Ann in her time of need. We are especially grateful to her earthly angels and caregivers at Everest Hospice and Pheasant View Memory Care.
Ann is survived by her loving husband, Arlyn; children, Christine Proctor, Jared (Holly) Proctor, Ben (Annette) Proctor; and 11 grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Kenneth (Denise) Jones, Margaret (Mike) Tebbs, and Chris (Angie) Jones.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 25, 2022, at the Centerville South Stake Center, 270 North 300 East. A viewing will be held Thursday evening, February 24, 2022 from 6:00 -8:00 p.m. at Russon Mortuary, 295 N.
