Ellen Dorothy Bryson

July 19, 1917 — September 16, 2012

BOUNTIFUL-Ellen Dorothy King Bryson, 95, returned home to her Heavenly Father Sunday, September 16, 2012 surrounded by her family.
She was born July 19, 1917 in West Point, Utah to James Henry King and Clara Youngberg. She was the sixth child in a family of twelve children. She married her sweetheart, Glenn Holbrook Bryson, December 23, 1936 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Mother was an example of love, charity and compassion. She loved the Savior and had a strong testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
She served as a Relief Society President, Primary President, Relief Society teacher and spent many years serving in the Salt Lake Temple with her husband. She also enjoyed working on Family History and was faithful in writing in a journal each day.
Mother had an incredible work ethic and the tenacity and perseverance to finish any project. She was an excellent seamstress. She sewed numerous things for the Humanitarian Service Center including baby blankets, nightgowns and over 2,800 dresses.
She was an excellent cook, making delicious pies that couldn’t be duplicated. She produced numerous quilts for her family. She was an excellent gardener and created a beautiful yard filled with flowers of many kinds.
Ellen and Glenn were blessed with a beautiful family of two sons and three daughters. They were her pride and joy and she would do anything to serve them.
She was preceded in death by her sweetheart, Glenn Bryson; son, Brent King Bryson; and grandson, Craig Bryson Zesiger.
She is survived by her son, Lynn (Elizabeth) Bryson, Enterprise; daughters, Marlene (Roger) Ditlevsen, Bountiful, Dorothy (Don) Zesiger, and LaRae (Richard) Druk, West Bountiful; daughter-in-law, Karen Bryson, Kaysville; 26 grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren. Also survived by two brothers, Darrell King, West Point, LaMar King, North Ogden, and one sister, Verda Bell, Fairfield, Montana.
The family expresses a special thanks to the staff at Legacy House for their kind and gentle care of our mother the past four months.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon, Thursday, September 20, 2012 in the Bountiful 10th/27th Ward, 1145 North 200 East, Bountiful. A viewing will be held Wednesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, and Thursday morning 10:30-11:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment-Bountiful City Cemetery.
