Elwood Angus Maloy

Elwood Angus Maloy passed away unexpectedly on October 29, 2015 in Bountiful, Utah. He was born in Pima, Arizona on January 25, 1933 to Lawrence Lorenzo and Orlena Nancy Maloy, the first of six children.  He was raised in the Safford, AZ area where he helped his dad build their home brick by brick. Elwood married Colleen Huggins of Globe, AZ on September 10, 1958 in the Mesa, Arizona Temple.  Elwood and Colleen had seven children Paul (Ann), Colette (Nick), Kenneth (Ramona), Dan (Liesl), Michael (Angela), Keith (pending), and Karen (Jamin).  Elwood served honorably in the West Central States LDS Mission followed by service in the US Army. In 1958 he graduated from BYU in Business Management. The family lived in Phoenix, AZ for 15 years. His love of the Utah scenery and seasons brought him to West Bountiful, UT in 1978.  Elwood retired from Utah Power & Light after 20 years of service. Elwood had a lifelong love of friends, beautiful music, aviation, learning, and travel. He was a master repairman fixing and building things around home.  He loved the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and served in many callings including the Bountiful Temple and the Bountiful Family History Center.  He was friendly to everyone and always made people feel special.  Elwood is survived by his angel wife of 57 years, his sisters Dixie Lee and Lynneah, his brother Larry, all of his children, 29 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren (and counting).  
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 6, 2015, at 11:00 am in the West Bountiful Stake Center,1930 North 600 West, West Bountiful. Viewings will be held Thursday, November 5th, from 6:00-8:00 pm at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful and Friday morning at the church one hour prior to services. The family expresses their gratitude to the doctors and nurses at Lakeview Hospital.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the LDS Missionary Fund.
