Emeline Hansen

Emeline Smith Hansen, 88, passed away peacefully at home February 12, 2004 after a long illness. Emeline was born January 20, 1916 to Joseph R. & Laura Stoker Smith. She grew up in Centerville, the 3rd of seven children. She married Karsten F. Hansen, March 12, 1926. They spent the first 6 years of their marriage traveling the Western States for Karsten?s work. They settled back in Centerville in 1943. She has lived there ever since. She worked at Auerbach?s for many years, then started her own ladies shop ?Emelee?s? in Bountiful in 1952. She operated it for 30 years until retirement. She had one son, Karsten F. Hansen, who died in 2001. She is survived by 2 grandsons who she adored, Kerry K. and Kevin Shannon Hansen; 2 great-grandchildren, Abby and Karsten Hansen; 1 sister, Betty Thompson and several special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, son, 3 brothers, Ben, Dick & Orso, and 2 sisters, Kate and June. Many thanks go to the helpful staff of Vista Care for the help offered over the past few months. Extra thanks to Tonia, Nate and Jim as they were all very special to Emeline. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 17, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main where friends may call from 10:00 – 10:45 a.m. prior to services.
