Emiko Miki Christensen, 84, peacefully passed away Tuesday, Sept 27 at Lakeview Hospital in Bountiful, UT following a short illness with her family by her side.
Emiko was born November 6, 1931 in Osaka, Japan to Kozen and Hiroe (Yanae) Harada.
Emi was a skilled chef and was the world's first female sushi chef. Along with her husband Jerry She owned and operated "Baba-sans", a successful and popular sushi restaurant in New Orleans, LA during the '80's.
Emiko was widely known for her tireless energy, and her kind, giving nature.
Emiko is survived by her husband of 52 years, Jerry A. Christensen and her son, Steven T. Christensen, brother-in-law Paul Christensen, sister-in-law Corrine Christensen, sister-in-law Alice Lynn Beck many nieces and nephews and cousins and many, many friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, Sept 29, between 6pm-8pm at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 1941 N. Main Street, Farmington. Funeral services will be held Friday, Sept 30, at 1 pm at Farmington South Stake Center, 695 South 200 East in Farmington with a visitation from 11:45 am to 12:45 pm prior to services. Interment- Farmington City Cemetery.
