Emily May Petersen

June 8, 1919 — January 14, 2013

Day is done, gone the sun from the lake, from the hills, from the sky. All is well, God is nigh.
Emily May Youngberg Petersen was born June 8, 1919 in Bountiful, Utah to Ernest and Stella May Kynaston Youngberg. Married John William Petersen, October 21, 1936 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Later solemnized in the Bountiful LDS Temple, March 18, 2000.
She worked in the school lunch programs and a Bountiful nursing home.
Emily traveled extensively with her sister and her husband, Genevieve and Jack Jarvis, and in later years with her sister, Laverda (Babe) Moss.
Left to carry on her legacy is her son and daughter-in-law, Ann and John Gary Petersen, North Salt Lake, Ut; four grandchildren: Gary Lynn and Sherrie Petersen, Syracuse, Becky & Tracy Haag, Reed Point, Montana, John David & Holly Petersen, Centerville, and Emily Ann (Eric) Christensen, Centerville; 14 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchild; and sister, LaVerna Cleverly, Bountiful. Preceded in death by her husband, John W. Petersen; three sisters, Lydia Bangerter, Genevieve Jarvis, and Laverda Moss; three brothers, Ernest, Rex and Virgil Youngberg. The family would like to thank South Davis Community Hospital and Beehive Homes of Centerville, for their loving care.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 18, 2013 at the Centerville 5th Ward, 270 North 300 East. A viewing will be held Thursday evening 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful and Friday 12:45 – 1:45 p.m. at the church prior to services. Interment-Bountiful City Cemetery.
