Emma Jean Carpenter, age 64, passed away at her home in Bountiful, Utah, August 3, 2013. She was born June 7, 1949 to Ross and Marion Alice Woodin Carpenter in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania. She grew up, attended school, and worked in Pennsylvania. After joining The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she moved to Utah where she has lived the last half of her life. She had a firm testimony of the gospel, enjoyed her Church membership and held many callings.
She is survived by sisters: Betty Brown (DuWayne, deceased), Donna Seamans (Jim), Marsha Schroeder (Martin), RossAnn Schwartz (Walter), Gail Jones (Terry), Ellen Van Order, and Dawn Klinefelter; several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Ida May Penner.
To honor Emmas wishes, there will be no formal services. We say good-bye for now to our fabulous friend Emma. She was always positive and practical, with a great sense of humor and a delightful laugh.
