Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away on October 14, 2015 in Bountiful, Utah.
Emma Lou Barnes Davis was born March 9, 1929, in Ogden, UT to Hugh L. Barnes and Araminta Bingham. She spent her early years in Provo, Roy and Ogden. She graduated from Weber High School and received her associate's degree from Weber College. On June 10, 1949, she married Russell Leonard Davis in the Logan LDS temple. They lived in Ogden, Logan, and Michigan before settling in Bountiful in 1957. A devoted member of the LDS church, Emma Lou spent many years as a teacher. She taught both Relief Society and Gospel Doctrine and served as Relief Society President. She also worked as a docent at the LDS Church History Museum. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. The family wishes to thank their angel sister Susan, and her husband Dan, who opened their home and took such loving care of Emma Lou over the past several years.
Emma Lou was preceded in death by her beloved Russell, 1 brother, and 2 grandsons. She is survived by three brothers; Rey Barnes, Richard Barnes and Gary Barnes; her eight children and their spouses; Dan Russell Davis (Diane), Kathleen Hanson (John), Kirk Davis (Scotti), Susan Bradford (Dan), Eileen Davis, Alan Davis (Katheen), Julie Hadley (Greg) and Grant Davis (Kim) as well as 37 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 24 at the Bountiful 19th ward chapel, 1540 N 400 E, Bountiful, Utah. Family and friends may call from 6-8 p.m., Friday, October 23 at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 N. Main St., Bountiful and from 9:30-10:30 a.m., Saturday at the church prior to services.
