EMMELINE FROST HALLIDAY
1914 – 2013

Emmeline Isabelle Frost Halliday, passed away Monday, February 25, 2013 in Salt Lake City.

She was born March 19, 1914, in Coalville, Utah, to Charles L. and Emmeline Condie Frost, growing up in Coalville before moving to Salt Lake in September, 1932 to enter nurses training at the LDS Hospital Nursing School, becoming a registered nurse.

While working as a private duty nurse for her future father-in-law, she met his son, Eldo Halliday. They were married in Coalville, Utah in November 1940, and later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. Emmeline has had a lifetime of service to patients as a nurse, to her family and friends, in the community, and in the LDS Church, serving in many assignments in the Salt Lake Bonneville Stake. She enjoyed keeping busy with hand work, and completed countless quilts and sewing projects which she donated to the Primary Childrens Hospital and other charitable organizations. One of the highlights of her service was when she and Eldo were called as Welfare and Friendshipping Missionaries to work with Cambodian refugees in the Salt Lake valley. She was also an active member of the Bonneville Camp of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, and took great strength from her pioneer ancestors.

Emmeline is survived by her sons, David (Bountiful) and James (Salt Lake), nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eldo, her parents, brother Irving Frost and sister Izetta Frost Neilsen.

Friends and family are invited to gather at the Bonneville Stake Center, 1535 East Bonneview Drive in Salt Lake, on Friday, March 1 from 11:00 to 12:30 prior to interment at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 South Highland Drive, Salt Lake City. Online guestbook available at www.russonmortuary.com
