Our always faithful wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Enid Caldwell Cook, peacefully passed away in her home in Davis County on July 25, 2017 at 1:20 AM. She was 91 years old.
Enid was born on February 15, 1926, to Wilford Woodruff Caldwell and Gladys Cordelia Caldwell. She was raised in Vernal, Utah, by her widowed and strong mother, Gladys.
Enid graduated from BYU with a degree in Theatre and a minor in English. She served an LDS mission to the Spanish American Mission; where she met her husband, Joseph Wolcott Cook, “J.” They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on October 12, 1951. She spent her career teaching Spanish to many high school students in Rialto, California. Enid was blessed with many talents: cooking, sewing, singing and playing the piano is just a short list. She lived a lifetime full of service to others and her Heavenly Father. After retirement she and her husband served four missions together in the Dominican Republic, Bolivia and two in Peru. Upon returning home, she continued to serve as a temple worker in the Bountiful Temple.
Enid loved her family. She was faithful and obedient to the end and endured the trials of old age well. She was kind, witty and wise. We will miss her greatly but are so grateful for the knowledge that we will see her again.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph, her four children; Kelly (John) Wells, Bryson (Janice) Cook, Jeff Cook and Sybil (Jeff) Ostler, 17 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held on Friday, July 28, at 6:00-8:00pm at the Russon Brothers Mortuary (1941 North Main St. Farmington, UT 84025) and from 9:30-10:30am before the funeral service which will be Saturday, July 29, at 11:00am at the Fairways LDS Chapel (1533 North 1075 West, Farmington, Utah 84025). Heartfelt gratitude to all who have loved and cared for her.
