Enid B. Jacobsen, 96, died peacefully November 23, 2010 in Bountiful, UT. Enid was born March 29, 1914 to Frank and Amy Bridges in London, England. Her family immigrated to America when she was 2 years old. She grew up in Utah. Her family moved to Southern California when she was a young teenager. She met and married Willis Jacobsen on October 2, 1937. They were later sealed in the Los Angeles Temple. Enid was a gifted musician and artist. She was a vocalist at various churches and synagogues in the Los Angeles area during her adult life. She was a member of several music clubs. In her earlier years she had a career as an illustrator for the May Company. She entertained her friends and family by doing oil paintings and caricature sketches
She was a life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She will be remembered by her church friends as the director of the congregational hymns for many years.
Enid loved to follow the Lakers and Dodgers. She was a regular at Pickwick bowling alleys up until a few years ago. She played bridge for many years and made friends at the Joslyn Center in Burbank. She was patriotic and interested in politics. She hosted the polling on Election Day for many years.
Enid moved to Utah in March following a fall to be near family.
She was preceded in death in 2001 by her husband of 63 years. She was survived by her two sons, Kent (Barbara) Jacobsen of Plumas Lake, California, and Jeffrey (Kathleen) of Cody, Wyoming, 9 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
The funeral will be Thursday, December 2, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing at 10:00 am at the LDS Church at 136 N Sunset Canyon Drive in Burbank.
