Ernest LeRoy Allred
Ernest LeRoy Allred, age 87, passed away peacefully December 5, 2005 surrounded by his loving family. Ernest was born August 11, 1918 in Lehi, Utah to Dilbert Ray and Susie Kirkham Allred. He married Viola May Blunck on September 29, 1942 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He worked and endured to the end and his family was blessed by his determination and commitment to be there for them as long as possible.
He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in various capacities over the years. He served a mission to the north western states. He loved to cheer for the Utes and later in his life he loved to golf and was involved in a bowling league right up to his passing away.
Ernest is survived by his children: Patricia Bowser, Melvin L. Joan Allred, Weston Ray Michelle Allred, Elaine Burgess and Karen Greg Gorzitze, all residing in the Salt Lake valley. Survived also by 22 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, brother Milan, and wife Viola of 58 years.
The family expresses deep gratitude to Gritton & Associates and their employees for allowing Ernie to work and associate with them through the last days of his life. Special thanks to the staff at St. Marks critical care unit for their skillful care and attention to his needs and wishes.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 10, 2005 at 12:00 noon in the East Mill Creek Stake Center3103 E. 3600 S. SLC, Ut. Friends and family may call Friday evening from 6:30-8:30 pm at Russon Brothers Mortuary 255 So. 200 E., SLC and Saturday from 10:45-11:45 a.m. at the Stake Center. Family requests no flowers.
