Ernest Smith

January 15, 1911 — February 20, 2011

Our loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away Sunday, February 20, 2011. Dad recently celebrated his 100th birthday. He was born January 15, 1911 in Salt Lake City to Andrew Smith Jr. and Henrietta Mitchell, the 3rd of 7 children. He lived a short time in Salt Lake City, but spent his boyhood and adult life in West Bountiful until 2009 when he moved to Centerville. He married Marjorie Roberts April 18, 1934 in the Salt Lake Temple and they were blessed with 3 children. Dad was a man of integrity, courage, and determination. He enjoyed life and loved gardening and sharing his produce. His greatest joy was loving and serving his family. He was preceded in death by his wife, son Paul, daughter Nancy Meservy, great-granddaughter Kalissa Meservy, his parents and his brothers and sisters. He is survived by his daughter Leslie (Richard) Lawrence, son-in-law Jerry Meservy, 7 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and sister-in-law Cecile Smith. The family would like to express their deep appreciation to Dr. Val Hansen and his staff, Dr. Scott Southworth, the gals at Mt. Star Lab and all of the staff at Life Care Center in Bountiful for the loving care given to him and to everyone for their kind support, warm embraces, prayers and love. Friends and family are invited to attend the funeral services, Saturday, February 26, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Park Meadows Ward, 690 North 400 West, Centerville, Utah. Viewing will be held Friday, February 25 from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main Street, Bountiful and Saturday morning from 9:00 – 9:45 a.m. at the Park Meadows Ward. Interment – Bountiful City Cemetery.
