Ethan Mackay Farnworth

A great light has gone out in the world. Ethan Mackay Farnworth, our beloved son, brother, and friend, chose to leave this life on March 28, 2017. Ethan was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on October 4, 1997. When he was 12 years old, he moved with his family from West Jordan, UT to Vancouver, WA. From a very early age, it was obvious that Ethan was a sensitive, self-aware soul with the capacity to feel deep emotions. He was charismatic and at times, pushed boundaries with his larger-than-life personality; but those who knew him best loved him for staying true to himself and breathing life into each moment.
 
Ethan was exceptionally gifted in the arts and possessed the soul of a true artist. In bands such as The Beatles and Nirvana he found kindred spirits who inspired and uplifted him, kindling in him a passion for collecting old vinyl records. Ever the jokester, Ethan loved to provoke those around him to think for themselves with his edgy, albeit highly-developed, sense of humor. His talents in the areas of drawing, painting, writing, acting, and ceramics were remarkable. Ethan attended school at Union High where he made many friends and became actively involved in the theater department. He used his creativity in the kitchen, making the most delicious dishes for his friends and family to enjoy. More than anything, Ethan enjoyed spending time with his friends. As news of his passing spread, it quickly became apparent just how deeply he had influenced everyone he came in contact with.
 
Ethan is survived by his parents, Jason and Emily Farnworth; his two brothers, Hiram (20) and Caleb (16); and by his grandparents, Jay and Julia Pitkin. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sharell and Karrin Farnworth. In lieu of funeral services, friends and family are invited to attend a casual open-house to be held at Russon Brothers Mortuary located at 295 N. Main Street in Bountiful, Utah on Saturday, April 8 between the hours of 2:00 and 5:00 PM.
