Eugene Garff Bryson

July 24, 1940 — October 22, 2015

Eugene Garff Bryson, cherished husband, father and grandfather passed away on October
22 , 2015, surrounded by his family after a valiant battle with Alzheimer's disease.
He was born on July 24, 1940 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Eugene D. and Grace Garff Bryson. Garff married his sweetheart and lifelong companion Nanci Monsen in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on September 7, 1961.
From his early years Garff appreciated men's fashion. While he was attending the University of Utah, he became a men's apparel buyer for Auerbach's Department Store. He was very successful and eventually became a Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing with an international clothing manufacturer. He loved those he worked with and sold to. He was admired for his honesty and integrity. Up until his last day on earth, he continued to wear pressed khakis, starched plaid shirts and Cole Hahn shoes at the Heritage Place Memory Care Center.
Garff was a faithful member of the LDS church, and served in many capacities, including Bishoprics, as a Sunday School teacher, Temple worker and a High Councilman. Of all of his callings, Garff loved being a Home Teacher. He grew to love all of the families he visited and was honored to serve them.
Garff had a wicked sense of humor and a quick wit. He enjoyed being with others and having a good time. Of all the places he traveled, his favorite were the beaches of southern California with his family. He loved the Utes and was an avid golfer. He played in the Tucson Open Pro Am and was partnered with Chi Chi Rodriguez.
Garff loved his family very much, and taught his children values like hard work, honesty, and compassion. He relished the role of "Pa" to his 9 grandkids; Sam, Jesse, Elle, Bryson, Alex, Mia, Emma, Max and Taylor.
Garff is survived by his wife, Nanci; and son Steve (Seon); 3 daughters, Lory Evans (Lance); Julie Nardelli (Peter); and Jen.
His family will greet friends and neighbors at Russon Brothers Mortuary in Bountiful, Utah from 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Thursday October 29. Funeral services will be held on October 30 at 11 am at the Mueller Park Stake Center, 1800 East Mueller Park Road, Bountiful, Utah.
Garff's family wishes to express appreciation to the many hands that respectfully served and cared for him at the Heritage Place Memory Care Center. Special thanks to Tearsa & Whitney, his nurses.
