Our beloved 92 year old mother, grandmother, friend and benevolent servant of the Lord, passed through the veil December 6, 2008 in Bountiful, Utah after a long and valiant life. This gracious lady with an abundant faith and love for everyone was born January 22, 1916, in the home of her parents Ernest Abraham Hayes and Francis Adeline Harrison, in Bountiful, Utah. Her loved first husband Charles William Halford, Jr., preceded her in death on November 19, 1976 after 42 years of marriage. They were sealed on September 12, 1955 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Eva married her second sweetheart Edward T. Arrington for time on September 20, 1980 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Eva was an inspiration to everyone. She attracted friends and influenced all who came to know her. She served the Lord her entire life, which began on a farm on the Bountiful east bench. There she learned discipline, hard work and a love for mother earth while she helped in the families; gardens, fields and orchards. She devoted her life to her children, giving needed council while always setting an example of Christ like patience and love. Eva was the Lord’s disciple, serving in many capacities in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After Charles death, she served in the Louisiana, Mississippi mission, and later served a two-year mission with her husband Edward in the St. George Temple. She loved the arts and participated in theater both as actor and director. She was an avid reader, enjoying fiction and religious authors. She is survived by her children: Gene Reta Halford, Marlin Judy Halford, Stephen Pamela Halford and Ernest Karla Halford; step-children: Ronald Joyce Arrington, Patricia Richard Bullock, Michael Arrington, Rebecca Stone, and brother Mark E. Irene Hayes; 25 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Legacy House of Bountiful and Alpine Home Health and Hospice for their loving care and concern. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon, Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at the Bountiful LDS Tabernacle, 51 South Main, where friends and family may visit from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. prior to services.
