Eva Bonner Sherwood 92 passed away in Clearfield on Thursday, April 14, 2005 from the effects of age. Mom was born in Heber City, Wasatch County, Utah on February 4, 1913 to Charles Edwin Bonner and Leonie Averett Bonner. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law: Loretta Sherwood and Fae Bonner. Mom lived a happy, active life, and commented recently that she had been able to do everything in this life that she wanted to do. She loved her yard and flowers, and served as president of the Bountiful Garden Club. She also loved her family, and was especially happy to have her ?little ones? visit. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served in many callings, including Primary President and Gospel Doctrine Teacher. Mom was a school teacher for many years. She taught 5th grade in Davis County until her retirement. She graduated with high honors from the University of Utah and was a member of the teacher?s honorary society Delta Kappa Gamma. She also served in several capacities with the Utah Education Association. Mom and Dad loved to travel. They visited most countries in the world as well as all of the 50 states. Mom especially loved to visit places related to American History. She was an avid fisherman, and loved to go fishing with Dad on the reservation above Duchesne in their small travel trailer. A fishing highlight was on the Strawberry where she appeared to have caught her line on a snag the pole bent double but instead landed a 26? rainbow trout. She was an enthusiastic fan of the Utah Jazz, and loved to help Jerry Sloan coach, even if she was only watching the game on TV. She was a season ticket holder from the days of the Utah Stars, until just a few years ago. Mom loved children, and expressed the wish that people donate to Primary Children?s Hospital in lieu of sending flowers. The family would like to thank the kind and compassionate staff at Chancellor Gardens of Clearfield and Horizon Hospice for their many acts of kindness.
