Evelyn Barrett

July 23, 1927 — April 25, 2011

Evelyn K Barrett passed away Monday April 25, 2011 of natural causes, in Bountiful, Utah at age 83. She was born July 23, 1927 at home in Clear Creek, Utah to Clarence Kempton and Sylvia Potter. She was born the third of four children. Mom grew up on the family farm and helped her father with the work on the farm, she loved the outdoors hiking, camping, and fishing. Evelyn was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was involved in the young women’s organization and enjoyed summer camps and coached softball with the girls. She worked helping others with genealogy research and enjoyed all of the spiritual experiences had with those she helped. She had many other positions in the church over the years. Evelyn married Dean L. Barrett on November 5, 1945 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Three sons were born into this wonderful family. Evelyn was preceded in death by her Husband Dean L. Barrett, Granddaughter Adessa, all of her brothers and sisters and her parents. Evelyn is survived by her three sons Curtis and Shirley of West Jordan, Craig and Rochelle of Bountiful, Cary and Mona of Sandy, 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. A viewing will be held at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 N Main, Bountiful, Thursday April 28, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 29, 2011 at the LDS Ward Chapel, 585 East Center St. Bountiful, where friends may call from 11:45 to 12:45 prior to services. Interment-Bountiful City Cemetery. Special thanks to those who gave loving care to our mother – Hearts for Hospice and Legacy House.
