Evelyn Raye Kundert Farier was born August 20, 1921 in Jamaica Plains, Massachusetts to John Rudolph and Clara Raye Kundert. She passed away peacefully surrounded by family on November 15, 2014. She was the oldest of 4 children. She graduated from Dedham High School in 1939. She attended Bryant & Stratton Business School where she graduated top of her class. She served as a nurses aid during WWII. She worked for the federal government in several capacities working her way up to executive administrative assistant to the general and retired with many certificates of appreciation. Evelyn was the mother of one son, Guy Eugene Farier Jr., who was her pride and joy. She did everything in life because of him.
Evelyn joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1967 and was a faithful member to the end. She moved to Utah in 1979 and resided in Fruit Heights. She loved attending the temple, doing genealogy, teaching primary and serving with her friends in the Relief Society Presidency. Most especially, she loved swimming and floating on the water. She loved visiting with people and good conversation. She loved her family and always wanted to know what was going on with everyone. She was extremely intelligent and took care of everything until the final weeks of her life.
She is survived by her son, Gene, nieces and nephews, Maureen (Gordon) Lawes, Timothy (Marianne) McCormack, Joanne (William) Lowe, Nancy Gagliarde, Janet (Barry) Mitchell, Danny Gagliarde, Johnny Kundert, Jackie (Joe) Aguiar, Eleanor (Bruce) Webster, Ken (Melissa) Kundert, 11 great nieces and nephews and 13 great grand nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, sisters and brother, Barbara (Tim) McCormack, Joan Kundert, Jack (Pat) Kundert and nephew Bradley Kundert.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Nov. 22nd, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Orchard Ward 1533 North 1075 West, Farmington. Friends may come visit prior to the services from 9:30-10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment in the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the Orchard Ward, Dr. Marc Johnson and all the nurses and caregivers at Rocky Mtn. Care Center and Rocky Mtn. Hospice for their gentleness and loving kindness toward Evelyn.
