Evelyn Martin, 85, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2024. She was born in Salt Lake City on November 14th, 1938, to Stanley Frank and Myrveldeen Snow Dangerfield. Evelyn's love of God's creations began when her family moved to the Willow "D" in West Bountiful. She was the oldest of six children and was a member of the first graduating class of Bountiful High.
She met her husband Carl on a blind date, and while Carl was on a short leave from the military, they were married in the Logan Temple on July 9th , 1958. Carl and Evelyn are the parents of eight children. Motherhood will always be her greatest accomplishment.
She loved to sew, garden, cook, can, craft and found her greatest joy when providing for and nurturing her family. She faced life and motherhood with a sense of humor that made life better for everyone around her. She loved nature, whether it be birds in her own yard, or the animals and flowers in the mountains. She cherished the time she spent as an aide to elementary aged children with special needs. She shared her Christ-like service with numberless friends and neighbors.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ where she served in many callings and shared her testimony of the Savior often. Service in the Temple was also a great joy in her life. She and Carl served a mission together in the Canada Calgary Mission where they made many lifelong friends.
Of all the blessings she enjoyed in her life, one of the greatest is her many grandchildren.
Special thanks to her dear friends who loved and served her during the last years of her life.
Evelyn is survived by her siblings: Grant, Steve, Illene and Gary. Her children: Jeff Martin (Lola), Brenda (Larry Smith), Greg Martin (Angela) Doug Martin (Suzanne) Tammy (Lee Beverley), Mike Martin (Melissa) Beth (Nate Monson). She will be greatly missed by 37 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren.
