Everett Eldon Logan Sr. was born on December 21, 1930 in Three Sands, Oklahoma and passed away peacefully on February 28, 2022 at his home in North Salt Lake, Utah. Everett was the fourth of seven children born to Blueford Loran Logan and Emma May Swearingen Logan.
He was raised in farm country. As a young man he quit school and went to work on a neighboring farm to help support the family. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1951 and was based in Kodiak, Alaska. He served for four years and was honorably discharged in 1955. He married Lucille Marie Starkebaum Brown on December 1, 1960 in Newkirk, Oklahoma. They had three children and moved to southern California in 1962 to raise their family.
Everett embarked on a career in the aircraft manufacturing industry in California for Douglas Aircraft (McDonnell Douglas) in Long Beach. From there he worked for a short time for E Systems in Greenville, Texas, and later Boeing in Seattle, Washington, and for Bell Helicopter Textron in Hurst, Texas from which he retired after 24 years in 1999.
While in Greenville, Texas he joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served in various callings over the years. He and Lucille were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple in 1978.
Throughout his lifetime he enjoyed riding motorcycles, camping, and shooting guns. He especially enjoyed doing those things with his grandchildren. He also collected hats, knives, belt buckles, Harley Davidson memorabilia and Elvis Presley albums.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years; sibling: Eyvind (Carthene) Logan of Ponca City, Oklahoma; children: Everett Jr. (Debbie) Logan of Colleyville, Texas, Lucinda (Kirk) Blackburn of North Salt Lake, Utah, and Deniese Ivy (CA Floyd) of Piedmont, Kansas; 10 grandchildren (Ryan, Chasta, Michael, Mark, Trey, Robert, Erin, Rachel, Thomas, and Ty) and 15 great grandchildren (Jamie, Garrett, Ava, Alyssa, Chanler, Porter, Cortney, Hunter, Hailey, Savanna, Charlotte, Oliver, Yianni, Nikolaos, and Victoria).
Everett was proceeded in death by his parents and five siblings (El Roy, Loran, Eva Raye, Margaret, and Lawrence).
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the North Salt Lake Utah Legacy Stake Center, 954 West 1100 North, North Salt Lake, Utah. A viewing will be held on Friday, March 4, 2022 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main Street, Bountiful, Utah, and Saturday at the chapel from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. prior to the funeral. Interment will be at the Bountiful City Cemetery. Services will be streamed live on the Russon Brothers Mortuary Facebook page and on this obituary page. Streaming will begin 10-15 minutes prior to the start of the funeral service.
