Fay Hoxie Ashton True and Faithful
Having fought a good fight and having finished her course, Fay Hoxie Ashton left this life for a better life on Monday, February 20, 2006. Born October 30, 1919, in Salt Lake City to George Hoxie and Laura Anderson Hoxie, she graduated from South High school and the University of Utah. She spent nearly 40 years teaching in the Salt Lake City School District, teaching at Dilworth, Roselyn Heights, and Emerson elementary schools among others. Fay married her sweetheart, Lisle Ashton, on September 7, 1943 in the Salt Lake Temple. Her whole life was dedicated to the service of her Father in Heaven, her family, her school children, and her friends. Her special gift was to foster growth and love in her family through the activities she planned. She took her whole family to Grand Canyon, Yellowstone and many other places. She shared her love for travel by traveling the world, but never alone, always with a son, daughter-in-law, or grandchild in tow. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lisle, a sister, Blanche, and a brother, Gordon. She is survived by her three sons, Ron Jane Greenville, South Carolina, Norman Meredith Ogden, Utah and Bruce Carol Bountiful, Utah, 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held, Saturday, February 25, 2006 at 11:00 am at Forestview Ward, 1111 East Charlton Ave. 2815 So. Salt Lake City, Utah. Friends and family may call Friday February 24th from 6-8 pm at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 255 South 200 East, Salt Lake City and at the church from 9:45 to 10:45 prior to the service.
