Faye Evelyn Murray Young

Faye Evelyn Murray Young, 85 passed away April 7, 2016 of natural causes. She was born January 23, 1931 in Provo, Utah to Grant and Mildred Smith Murray. Her father passed away when she was 4 years old. Her mother married Ray Jackson who she called "Daddy".
Faye spent summers in Duchesne staying with her Grandma Murray. She adored her Grandma and still spoke fondly of that time in her life.
Faye received her diploma from St. Mark's school of nursing. She received her BSN from Westminster College. She gave many years of service to the care of the sick throughout her life. She retired from the VA hospital in Salt Lake City after many years of service.
She married Troy Raymond Young June 22, 1953 in Salt Lake City, UT. They were sealed in the Los Angeles Temple October 12, 1957. They had five children, Steven , Layna (Reese) Fillmore, George (Diane), John (Janice) and Lucinda Scherting. She also had a step son Richard Young.
Faye loved to travel. She enjoyed the year and a half that the family spent in Germany and took every opportunity to travel throughout Europe. Her favorite place to go was Yellowstone. She loved to sit and watch the geysers.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, father, mother, step father, brother Grant Murray, and sister Joan Laws. She is survived by her children, 15 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Marba (Larry) Evans, Elaine (Jack) Horsley, Sherrie Jackson and her brothers Billy (Karlene) Jackson, and Jay Jackson.
Funeral services will be held Thursday April 14, 2016 at the Bountiful Tabernacle on Main and Center at 11 AM. A viewing will be held on Wednesday April 13, 2016 from 6 – 8 PM at Russon Brothers Mortuary in Bountiful and from 9:45 to 10:45 at the church prior to the service. Interment will be in the Bountiful City Cemetery.
